Important Vazhipadukal
CHANDATTAM
Chanthattam is the most important offering in the temple. Chanthattam is one of the most important offerings made only to the Bhadrakali temples dedicated to Darabimba. Chant, which is made by mixing special types of herbs with strict fasting rituals, anoints the idol with kalasa poojas. With this, the fierce form of Sri Bhadrakali becomes satisfied and thrives as the omniscient goddess. Wearing Adiya Chant is very auspicious for the devotees especially for the auspicious women. This is an excellent offering which is considered as a quick fix for all the desires like Mangalyasiddhi and Ishtasantanalabdhi. As per the instructions of the Tantri, a facility has been set up at the Chendamkulangara temple for the devotees to perform this offering. Chantattam is performed in this temple every month on the day of Bharani. Therefore, this is done only through advance booking.
PARA
Another important offering in the temple is the garland filling, which is usually performed in the temples during the festive season. It flies in the month of May. On the day of departure, the para leaves the house after dinner. There, the procession begins with a festive procession and in the following days, Bhagwati receives colorful offerings from the devotees on all the seven platforms near the temple. Before the month of Karkitaka, the recitation ends with the passing of time in the Kaplingadu mansion itself. Apart from this, on the day of Kubha rule, a procession is held at the temple. On that day, devotees fill their cups with rice, flowers, jaggery, avil flower, ghee, turmeric and coins for the fulfillment of their desires. With the passage of time, it has become more and more like this, every day there are facilities to fill the jars at the temple. However, on Kumbhabharani day, it is considered special to fill the temple walkway.
